Abandoned Soon

'A novel is never finished, just abandoned,' or something like that, is a quotation that has been attributed to many folk. No matter who actually said it first, I certainly understand what is meant. I've a feeling that perfection only comes about by chance, if it exists at all: hard work isn't enough.

I was hoping that attending the Faber course would help me to polish my latest novel, but the course was postponed due to Covid 19, after getting a third of the way through. I did get something from it though: a little inspiration and some insights, that have both helped me to push Last Summer Night closer to completion.

It will be finished by June.
